NKI

I just finished this portrait of a girl in one of my 4th grade classes. Her name is Nki Amu. Her mom, Patricia comissioned me to do this portrait a while back and I just got around to doing it. Not my BEST work but I'm still satisfied. I know her moms is gonna like it, anyway

Random Storyboards

I hated this class but these were fun to do. . . They're actually supposed to be key frames but they're not really. More like some sketchy fun in Photoshop. The flowers are my favorite

golden oldies

These were all either done pre-Ai or very early on at Ai. I call them my 'golden oldies'.

that's Wes and I in front of a mural we painted together in High School along with the Art Teacher at the time, Mrs. Brandhourst. It's not that great, but it's still GREAT.

Back at NAHS I was looking to do something no one else did. . .and thus created something you've already seen before.

I think this is one of my first acrylic paintings that I actually liked. Its about 50x25 in. I've since wanted to use the canvas for something else, but I just can't bear to paint over it.

You really learn to appreciate the way a computer can simplify something so much for you when you're forced to do something like this by hand. A 2-d design class at Ai.

Here's a paper mache mask I painted and put together for a childs school project. I never made a paper mache mask before but when I was asked if I could do it, I said yes. Always say you can do it, and then learn how to very quickly. Lol. I had fun painting then cutting up these little squares.

A gouache on watercolor paper experimentation.

An independent study I did to familiarize myself with my brand new prismacolor markers.

An acrylic layering technique study I did from a tiny excert on a huge El Greco painting.

I took a photo of myself and (by hand) on the computer used the pen tool to draw myself in layers. Later I discovered that the cutout filter can do something similar. Oh well. This way looks better.
